Hewlett-Packard, General Motors and Bank of America are among the major purchasers that are saving billions and reducing emissions by working with their suppliers to improve environmental management, according to a Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) report.
Hewlett-Packard, for example, helped its suppliers avoid 800,000 metric tons of CO2e emissions and save more than $65 million through developing energy-saving action plans targeting local efficiency improvements.
