IKEA s’est fixé pour objectif que d’ici à 2020, 100 % du bois IKEA serait issu de sources plus durables, c’est-à-dire certifié FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) ou recyclé. 
Cet objectif est déjà atteint sur les zones prioritaires que sont la Russie, la Chine, l’Europe du Sud-Est et l’Asie du Sud-Est. Au niveau mondial, IKEA progresse de 10 % par an sur cet indicateur. Nous avons ainsi atteint 61 % de bois certifié FSC ou recyclé en 2016.

Stolen Wood, Certified: FSC allows certification to continue, Despite Illegalities 

A scathing investigation report released today by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) details systematic illegal timber sourcing by one of Europe’s largest timber processors, the Austrian firm Holzindustrie Schweighofer. FSC’s 110-page report, produced by a panel of experts over nearly one year, states that Schweighofer “developed a culture” that incentivized illegal timber sourcing by putting cheap wood above legality in their sourcing of logs in Romania. FSC’s Board of Directors refused to accept the panel’s recommendation that Schweighofer lose its FSC status, instead putting the company on a three-month probation which allows products to continue to be sold under the FSC label.

This label signifies that the forest a product comes from was managed responsibly.

Lenzing ranked number one globally for sustainable wood sourcing by Canadian environmental organization Canopy Planet Society 

The Lenzing Group was rated number one globally with respect to the procurement of wood, the key raw material in cellulose fiber production. This was the conclusion of the latest global ranking compiled by the Canadian non-profit environmental organization Canopy Planet Society, who cooperates with 68 leading retail brands in the textile industry worldwide and is a driver in evaluating sustainable sourcing processes. Lenzing has been focusing on optimizing the sourcing of the renewable raw material wood for more than 20 years in accordance with the principle of sustainability. Close to 100 percent of the wood and pulp used by the Lenzing Group is already certified by FSC® or PEFC™ or is controlled in line with these standards.
